Google pledges not to track users in new ways after Chrome cookie changes

Google said it won’t find new ways to track users after it phases out ad-tracking cookies from Chrome. David Temkin, Google’s head of product management, said: ’Today, we’re making explicit that once third-party cookies are phased out, we will not build alternate identifiers to track individuals.’ Google is phasing out such cookies from Chrome that online advertisers use to serve personalized ads.

Come on Google. Not even your own employees believe you're not an evil global corporation anymore. You're going to have to do better than "we promise not to go out of our way to do evil stuff" to get people's confidence back.

Implying they don't ALREADY have multiple other ways. "We promise that once we get rid of Tracker 1.0 that we will not create a Tracker 5.0." "What about 2-4?" "Shhhhhhhhh."

With all the division in this app, I'm glad that Google being an evil, lying corporation is what we all agree on.
