Brave said it has acquired Tailcat – a search engine developed by Cliqz, which is a subsidiary of Germany’s Hubert Burda Media. Burda shut Tailcat in 2020. With the acquisition, Brave hopes that it can gain a foothold in the browser market as privacy is rapidly climbing up in the users’ preference list when it comes to browsers and other apps. The parties didn’t disclose the terms of the deal.
I wonder how much the internet will cost when our data is totally protected...
Now what Brave needs to do is to integrate into the search bar all the search engines at once, for one search results from all the different search engines. That's how you overcome Google Monopoly.
The internet was never meant to be controlled by a few American companies. We the people have been sold out. Its disgraceful and Joe Biden needs to act, or they will continue to lose the trust of the rest of the world. Just sayin.
Psyop. There is no anonymity online, there is just restricting your data.
The best anonymity is Tor.
As much as I commend the effort of brave (I adopted it early on in development but the went back to Google Chrome for YouTube compatability) I don't see any help coming to them from any big players as they are competing in somewhat of a triopoly. Most of the internet is run by Google, Amazon, and Facebook as far as I can tell <source needed>. I wish them the best of luck and will continue to keep them downloaded on my computer.
firefox focus and duckduckgo
Love this browser. Hopefully they go public so I can invest soon!
Nice
Brave is a data-collection op by an ad company shilling a useless crypto
I can’t help wondering how long it’ll take for this company to be destroyed because only one skin colour is featured in its ad.
