UK says it will fast-track vaccines for Covid variants like normal flu jabs

To keep Covid-19 under control, Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said new Covid-19 vaccines to fight variants like the one from Brazil can be fast-tracked through an approval system already in place that approves updated vaccines for normal influenza. Drugmakers currently updating their existing vaccines need not take new approval or do lengthy clinical studies.
