California’s Petaluma becomes first US city to ban new gas stations

Petaluma, California has become the first US city to ban building new gas stations. This is a part of the city’s efforts to become carbon neutral by 2030. The city unanimously passed an ordinance, which enforces the ban immediately. The ordinance also bans adding new pumps at existing gas stations. This comes on the back of a wider movement in the North Bay to block new fossil fuel infrastructure.

Banning the need for gas is the first step to replacing gas usage. Now does everybody have access to an electric car and a charging station?

Yes because we all know that technology is developed because of banning previous tech. Not by the new tech being superior and replacing the old tech. If you have to force it to happen it's probably not better tech.🤦🏽‍♂️

Electric cars are racist. Pocs disproportionately live in rented houses and have less access to installing electric car chargers or have harder times paying for them. Anyone who disagrees needs to check their privilege.

The result being either people waiting longer, with car running, to get gas or driving further away. This SAVES on fossil fuel usage how?
