One billion Instagram pictures used to train Facebook’s new algorithm

A new AI model has been unveiled by researchers of Facebook. This AI can use any random group of unlabelled images on the internet to learn from them. The team has expected to generate a ’revolution’ in computer vision even though the model is currently in its early stages. The model has been named SEER (Self-SupERvised) and was fed one billion publicly available Instagram pictures during testing.

You gave the rights to the photos to Instagram, which is now owned by Facebook. Now Facebook is using your data to train ai. With no real competition due to the high bar for entry (in terms of price) they hold a data lead, resource lead, manpower lead, and legislation lead. Meaning you can't realistically compete without first doing an elon play and lay the ground work for something like paypal.
