Shortage prompts Italy to block Covid-19 vaccine export to Australia

Hit by shortage, Italy has blocked 250,000 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine from being exported to Australia. This comes on the back of the European Union’s threats to stop vaccine exports as the 27-nation bloc is struggling to inoculate its population due to shortages. Australia has asked the EU to review its decision while stressing that it won’t affect its vaccination drive.

Australia is struggling to roll out the vaccines as it is. NSW is leagues ahead of every other state. Victoria couldn't organise a shag in a brothel.

Thats nice of them! All the while 10,000's of vaccines are unused all over the EU because people refuse to take it!!! The UK needs to bring bk drugs manufacturing just like the US

Once the US gets our house in order, we need to give our commonwealth boys some backup, then the rest of the QUAD. This vaccine diplomacy isn't gonna go away any time soon. Self>family>friends. Glad mere mereck is getting partnered with J&J it'll speed this up a bit.

Australia doesn’t exactly need much anyway. There’s been basically no community spread for ages.
