’Chivalry’ assignment asks girls to dress to please men; removed by Texas school

An assignment which had called on girls to follow the ’Rules of Chivalry,’ including dressing ’in a feminine manner to please men’ and to ’not complain or whine’, has been removed by a Texas school district. The assignment, which was shared in a private Facebook group, was supposed to be completed by students at the Shallowater High School this week. It was removed following criticism.

So, it's an assignment for a class. Which subject? If it was history/social studies, or English literature, I could see it as a giving students insight into the social mores of other time periods. Didn't know chivalry had requirements for women, as I've only understood it in the context of men more or less simping for women.

Strange how the CBS and ABC stories both omitted the role the boys had to adopt. They only told of the girls responsiblity... as though they were angling for misogyny. The Daily Mail was the only one that got the whole story...shame. This actually sounds like the kids might have learned something about life in midevil times, thank God the cancel culture stopped that before it could happen.

Is chivalry still used? Let the school teach, and the high school students discern. I remember being told in a health class, by a female teacher, "all guys want to date a whore, and marry a virgin". Guess I wasn't a guy. If you filter little things like this down, then project it to the internet, you're going to evoke cancel culture, for which the context is one article, about one school, by one author. I'd rather all ideas be presented equally, without mitigation, so our kids learn to discern facts from feelings, truth from opinion, and probability of accuracy in information. Stop making them as dumb as the rest of us. Let them grow in the field of ideas, not the duct taped too-small pot filled with horsesh*t social justice.

I read the article and yeah this was just dumb all around. I don't see any lesson that is really learned here. I know the word sexist is overused nowadays but unless I am missing something major here then this assignment is blatantly sexist. Besides Chivalry is more about men making sacrifices for women, not because we have to but because we want to because we are men. Sadly chivalry is dead and feminism killed it.

Things liberals have ruined: They've ruined Youth Sports, the News Media, Football, our National Anthem, Dr Seuss, Universities, nearly all Holidays, the traditional family, California, elections in general, Scouting, and Controlled Immigration. They've ruined schools, social media, masculinity, and Hollywood. They've ruined 'winning', Judges and Courts, Colorado, Men's and Women's Bathrooms, Christmas, big cities, dating, and Police. Add to this list of things liberals have ruined: progress made in race relations, dining out in restaurants, Late Night TV. Daytime TV, Mr Potato Head, women's soccer, health insurance, the Oscars, parades, and marriage. History, prayer, the concept of 'gender', Emergency Rooms flooded with no-pay illegals and hunting and trapping as well as Peaceful Protests, and Energy Independence. They have ruined the Constitutional process and meaning of Impeachment, pancake batter mix, and any chance for realistic measures to adjust to the Earth's natural climate fluxes and Military Physical Minimum Standards. I could go on and on. But, let's let our liberal nutjob friends list all the things Republicans have ruined. I can't think of a single one to start with. Waiting... waiting...

Before considering the South as my future home I read articles about life there. One stood out. A woman from California. She said " Texas sucks the men tip their hat at you and hold the door open like I'm some sort of invalid, and unless I greet them back when they say howdy ma'am I'm considered rude. " So, like Leprechaun pointed out full context is most likely missing. What a misogynistic state... How dare they. The irony, in my previous liberal residence there was a strip joint called Chivelry. The contrast between the word is stark. Conservatives vs democrats definition.

How to dress, how to walk, when to talk, how talk, follow demands, clean like a maid, ask father to sign off, don't act smart, bow and keep head down. Damn, even the piece of paper orders the girls to grab it a soda. I waiting for a, "Don't breathe unless breathed at," command. So, basically slaves, huh? Seems legit. Was that teacher getting fired and feeling a bit spurned, or just a good-ol' fashioned town fool? "To please the men," Eeewwwww! More like the teacher, for when he "accidentally," leaves his computer camera on during class. 🤢 The guys are asked to dress up in suites too? What about the poor kids who ca''t afford stuff like that? Way to embarrass them for not being able to dress embarrassingly...

Sound like they were trying to make chivalry be a bad thing. Chivalry has nothing to do with looks. It has to do with kindness. Like walking the little old lady across the street or stepping up to change the tire for a mom with children in the car or mowing the lawn for your neighbors that can't do it because of age or injury or whatever.
