Wisdom the Albatross, world’s oldest known wild bird, hatches chick at 70

Regarded as ’oldest known wild bird in history,’ a Laysan albatross named ’Wisdom’ has hatched yet another chick, this time at the age of 70. The remarkable bird has outlived her previous mating partners as well as biologist Chandler Robbins, who first banded her in 1956. Wisdom hatched the chick on February 1 in North Pacific’s Midway Atoll, where over a million albatross come to nest each year.

Someone is probably been swapping the band with younger birds over the decades. April fools.

Honestly, I’m just impressed she’s still got a libido at that age.
