Mask mandates, on-premises dining restrictions slow COVID-19 spread: Study

A study published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report said that state-imposed mask mandates and on-premises dining restrictions help slow the spread of COVID-19. The report said that mask mandates were associated with ’statistically significant’ decreases in daily COVID-19 case and death growth rates within 20 days of implementation.

The lefties and their fear mongering as always. They will not be happy until we are all destitute and on unemployment, food stamps, and welfare just like the rest of their fan base.

The CDC study included just 300 people in just 11 States. For the people and health officials who don't like indoor dining, don't go simple as that and allow people who want to enjoy indoor dining to do so. Restaurants and Bars have done everything and then some to reopen safely

I could only read so far into the New York Times article until I read Biden quoted as calling people Neanderthals who dare to live their lives. Maybe they mentioned the fact that Florida with no mandates enjoyed a better winter than California with very strict measures in place, but I'm guessing they didn't. One thing I was taught in school. Pay closer attention to the thing that disproves your hypothesis over the thing that proves it. I get why people believe this crap, because they want to believe that the leaders of their country aren't craven and bloodless psychopaths. I'm looking every day for evidence to contradict that fact.

The death rate of COVID-19 vs the Spanish Flu shows that the word "pandemic" is being abused. The only reasonable explanation for the hyperbolic shift in the meaning of the word is to create a basis for crushing a great economy and changing our voting laws at the last minute.

That's funny because when we did a study on that in Nashville we got the exact opposite results. The study showed that almost no cases originated from sources like eating out and the vast vast majority came from those they lived in a house with. Weird. https://tennesseelookout.com/2020/08/04/nashville-restaurants-and-bars-account-for-few-confirmed-covid-19-cases/

Not saying the study is true but THIS is why I can't take Republicans seriously. You can put all the proof of something you want in front of them and they'll deny deny deny. But Frump just mentions voter fraud and they'll march off a cliff believing it. And I can't take Democrats seriously because most read a title and take it as gospel. Critical thinking REALLY needs to be a stronger focus.

Interesting, but, after reading it, the value of the study is being heavily overplayed. There are some serious potential flaws in their sampling/methodology, and even if we take their conclusions as accurate the posited variance, between the implementation/removal of such policies, is still fairly minor, even after the third of a year time frame they use.

Next do a study on whether or not coughing in front of someone else’s face increases the chances of that other person contracting COVID. These studies make me lose even more brain cells.
