Two species of sacoglossan sea slugs have been discovered, that severed their own heads and then regrew their bodies complete with hearts and other internal organs. The regenerating sea slugs took about a week to regrow the heart and three weeks to completely regenerate their bodies. Scientists suggested the presence of ’stem-like cells’ where the neck severs that allow for the regrowth.
Me irl
If it took a slug 3 weeks to regrow a heart, how long would it take to grow a human heart?
Alright, cool; now, when can I do that?
