Biden nominates two female generals to 4-star commands

On International Women’s Day, President Joe Biden has nominated two women generals to 4-star commanders. The nominees are Gen Jacqueline Van Ovost of the Air Force to be commander of the US Transportation Command, and Lt Gen Laura Richardson of the Army to be commander of the US Southern Command. If confirmed, they would be the 2nd and 3rd US women after Gen Ann E Dunwoody to hold 4-star commands.

The selection process was unique for this type of promotion, it all came down to the scent of their hair. Edit:spelling

I hope those women are qualified and weren't just appointed because if their gender but I don't think that's the case. International women's day. The biggest insult to women in history. This is woke America :,(

Neat that out of the candidates for a top job in the worlds biggest and most powerful military, and part of the only superpower, that they were both women. I genuinely hope they were the best, and that this isn't woke initiative. To get that far in a career, and have a President shoe you in because of your identity would be insulting. I know that's what weak people do about black lives and basically anyone non-white, but those people's President has proven to be another play from the old book, pre-internet leadership. In any case, congrats to them if they're selected. That's a big deal!

Biden is NOT being a POTUS! POTUS in title & oath only. Sad dark times still ahead. Pray 🙏 for Our country daily to get us to a real PRESIDENT that leads! Better days ahead if we keep walking in CHRIS''S LOVE && PRAYER.

I don't know enough about these women to say their 4 stars wasn't justified as they very well may have earned it above everyone else but this promotion done on women's day makes it a political stunt and is in bad taste, as it draws shade and doubt on it. Dumb move in my opinion. To helk with women's day, black history month or any other history days like this. Always give credit where credit is due. I'm of the opinion that saying certain achievements are extra special because of gender or race is crap. I'm not proud when a white man does something great, and not ashamed when one does something terrible. You want racism and sexism to go away stop giving extra credit because of it.

Oh great, now we're gonna have a new war once a month. Then when the media asks why they'll be like "if you don't know, I'm not going to tell you!"

But, were they qualified, or did they get promotions because they were women.
