Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan try to free Britney Spears

Conservative Congressman Matt Gaetz and House Judiciary Ranking Member Jim Jordan are calling for a hearing on the conservatorship process involving Britney Spears. The Judiciary Committee, however, has not yet commented on the hearing request. Britney Spears had landed in conservatorship in 2008, following her struggles with mental illness after her marriage ended in 2007.

So, Democrats wouldn't help someone who is being taken advantage of? Really? Or is this part of your war on women.

Mike, Mod and Chaos; Just to be clear; don’t help Brittney. That’s what you’re saying. You are screaming for Republicans to NOT HELP SOMEONE. Got it.

In a country where mental health is woefully underfunded everywhere and where prison is the largest provider of mental health services, its typical these GOP lowns are only interested in helping someone rich and famous. Neither has ever supported mental health before, this is gross political pantomime.

People struggling to get back on their feet, small businesses dying and all the GOP can care about is a publisher deciding not to keep printing dated books and a pop culture icon. Why does anyone vote for these people?

There's no indication that she doesn't want to continue her conservativship with her father. At 37 years old she admits that she's a spoiled child and has enough to deal with in her life right now, loves and trusts her father to do what's best for her as he has always done for her. He's not going to live forever and if she wants out of the arrangement all she has to do is ask. However, with an estate of this magnitude she must prove to the court that she has the ability to manage it or at least have the ability to earn a living, provide for the kids and pay the bills. She's doing fine and she is happy with the current arrangement with her father. This is all coming up because a disgruntled employee got let go and they're trying to stir up trouble for her.

Wow, they really don't have anything better than culture war virtue signaling left do they? I mean, yes, the process should be reformed. But why did it take britney spears to bring this to our attention?
