Arkansas governor signs law banning almost all abortions in state

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson (R) signed into law a legislation that bans nearly all abortions in the state. The governor said he was signing the bill because of its ’overwhelming legislative support and my sincere and long-held pro-life convictions.’ This development now gives anti-abortion activists hope that it will prompt the US Supreme Court to review its landmark 1973 Roe vs Wade ruling.

He's not banned all abortions, I believe they're still legal if they threaten the life of the mother. However unfortunately they're not legal if the pregnancy is the result of rape. The mother is forced to bring the child to term, which must be horrific. This legislation is the result of the left becoming far too blasè about abortion. The conservatives only compromised on abortion if it was a rare necessity, but the progressives have been pushing it as almost a miracle cure. Which has caused the conservatives to snap back to their original stance of zero tolerance. It'll take a lot to get them back to the negotiating table and screaming and crying is not going to do it.

If the left hadn't pushed and defended the necessary evil to the limit. What did you think was going to happen?

Saving living people is not a priority to him, his people are starving, kids have no healthcare and he just loves authoritarian theocratic BS, he should just go to Iran or Saudi Arabia for his draconian beliefs...

This is very sad news. Let's prioritize the lives of the already-born, the thinking and feeling. Life for life's sake isn't always good. The topic of abortion is a complicated one, because the arguments against it being optional are based on strong emotions. Emotions have their place, but I believe people who are anti-abortion use far too much of it. When thinking logically, abortion being a choice is very beneficial.

If abortions are illegal anyone over 18 should be able to get themselves sterilisated without question if they want. Also r@pe victims should always have abortion available...it’s not murder but for those who think it is, let the r@pist sit the “murder charge” then

Once again the Party that says it's for less Government oversight is supporting the Government's right to tell a woman what she can and can't do to her body.

Why does the government have to meddle in other people's lives. Can't we all just mind your own business. Stop telling people what they can and cannot do with their lives. Mind your own business, this is what it means to be an American. This type of action from the right, is no different from the disgusting crap the left has been doing. Normal human being thoughts. People should be allowed to own whatever guns they like, it's none of my business. people can do with their bodies whatever they like, it's none of my business. people may have whatever sexual partners they would like, it's none of my business. Crappy human being thoughts. I'm going to control what you can own, what you can do with your body, and who you're allowed to sleep with. Because I'm an authoritarian piece of crap who doesn't understand what Harmony means.

As Tom MacDonald says, bacteria is life on Mars but a heartbeat isn't life on Earth; weird. I also find it weird that most abortions are black babies and the left want more abortions. Who are the white supremacists? Rape victims can stop the pregnancy before fertilisation so they don't need abortion. Heard of the morning after pill?

Well that's not good. I can see a world of problem's with this being a thing. As if the republicans actually cared about the kids in their states already. Which they don't bcs this will just cause more abuse and more kids just being out in adoption. The republicans care so much about kids they don't even address the issues at hand already. They care so much about the American ppl that they want everyone to be burdened with having to pay for kids. Glad I don't live in a ars backwards state like most of the south.

The government should never have a say in what individuals do with their own bodies. However, it is exceptionally evil when they choose to force someone who has been raped to carry the pregnancy to term. They already suffered enough and had control taken away from them (at least) once. The last thing they need is for the government to revictemize them by taking control over their bodies away yet again
