Emergency declared in Hawaii due to floods and landslides

Evacuation orders were put into effect by officials in a town north of Honolulu, as a consequence of catastrophic flooding from a stream swollen by heavy rains. The order was put into effect merely a day after fears of a dam breach on the island of Maui. Parts of Hawaii have been inundated for the past several days due to torrential rain. The governor also issued an emergency declaration.
