Journalist acquitted in BLM protest case seen as attack on press

Andrea Sahouri, a reporter with the Des Moines Register was declared not guilty on misdemeanor charges of failure to disperse and interference with official acts. Sahouri had been pepper sprayed by the police and was arrested while she was covering a protest. The case had sparked an outcry, after critics slammed the arrest as an attack on press freedoms and an abuse of prosecutorial discretion.
