Slovakian journalist investigating tax evasion killed at home with girlfriend

On Sunday evening, 27-year old investigative journalist Jan Kuciak and his girlfriend were found dead in their home. National police force president Tibor Gaspar stated that these deaths may be connected to one of Kuciak’s investigations into tax evasion. The reporter contacted the police prior to Sunday’s events, stating that he had been threatened. Allegedly, no action was taken.
