London woman’s kidnap-murder stirs anger and grief

The suspected kidnapping and murder of Sarah Everard has stirred grief and anger in the UK, particularly because the suspect happens to be a cop whose job was to protect top politicians and diplomats. Everard, 33, set out on the 50-minute walk home from a friend’s house in south London at about 9pm on March 3, but never arrived. Her body was found hidden in a woodland 50 miles (80 km) from London.

Incredibly sad - especially for Sarah's family and friends. One wonders if the cop being held (and his female friend now released on bail) knew Sarah before this happened.
