Inventor of the cassette tape dies at 94

Lou Ottens, a Dutch engineer and inventor, who was credited with inventing the cassette tape died at the age of 94, on March 6. Ottens death brought a surge of nostalgia stories posted online about people’s experience with mixtapes. ’They were a part of the (literal) soundtrack of my life,’ posted Rick Green, the editor of the Press Democrat in Santa Rosa.
