Lara Trump-linked dog rescue charity spent $2M on Trump properties

A dog rescue charity with links to Lara Trump reportedly spent almost $2M at Trump properties in the last seven years. According to reports, the Florida-based Big Dog Ranch Rescue is expected to spend another $225,000 at Mar-a-Lago country club for an event this weekend. IRS filings show that the charity has spent as much as $1,883,160 on fundraising costs for events at Mar-a-Lago.

meanwhile Hunter Biden is being flown to Shanghai on Airforce 2 to organize private equity deals for 'the big guy'. We live in a clown world and almost everyone hates it.

“HuffPost reported that Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filings show that the charity has spent as much as $1,883,160 on fundraising costs for events at Mar-a-Lago and a nearby Trump golf course since 2014. Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump, has been a chairwoman for charity events since 2018.” “Donald Trump’s Trump Foundation, which was dissolved in 2019, and Eric Trump’s Eric Trump Foundation are known to have used money from donors for events and other expenses at Trump properties. Donald Trump admitted in court documents that he used charity money to buy a portrait of himself.” This family cannot stop grifting. Seriously, I believe Don and Eric cannot run charities in NY anymore because of their deceitful history of finding ways for charity/fundraising funds to end up in the trump family’s pockets. Now trump’s daughter in law is getting in the grifting game. But keep supporting them, trumpists!

Just a question, I understand what's being implied but is it possible that they used these premises and obtained better pricing? Thereby achieving the end result of raising funds while spending less? In that case I have no issue.

They were using the venue since 2014. Lara Trump joined in 2018. The owners full quote is below stating they gained 10 million more than they spent and that pricing, quality of service, and the venues beauty were factors. I think they were doing nothing wrong. Think about your local charities. When they do fundraising. If one of the board members is related to a venue owner and can get the venue at a discount would you be upset if they did? The owner is quoted as saying “The quality of service, beauty of the venue and excellent rate provided us as a nonprofit as well as the generosity of supporters who sell-out our event there every year allows us to rescue and home thousands of dogs. Our investment there and at the other venues mentioned in the article has netted more than $12m over an eight-year period"

While these articles might clearly want something nefarious to be going on here, and seem to be upset that the charity has not distanced itself from the Trumps, there is no evidence of anything untoward being provided.

It is way overdue to have a complete audit of these charities with strong political ties (whatever party). Beyond the obvious issues of corruption, money laundering, buying political action, etc...., there is the fact that they take away from the money, effort, energy, etc that society has for these causes.

They fundraise at Trump's place.. so they get more than that... The msm are snakes.

The very first link, Huffposts', shows that the "funnelled money" was simply used to create more funraising events. That 2M was all spent to funraise a total of 12M. Non-profit charities do this all the time! Venues are not free. The fact that she chooses to use Trump property to host the events is obviously a bias liberty that she wants to take, but there's not actual wrong-doing here. This is perfectly ethical and legal.

I'm Trump supporter, if this is true, is needs addressed in court. Clearly, something should be done about this. Nobody should be exploiting Charities for their own personal gain. Don't get me wrong, we're all aware of the tax write-offs that the rich use for these charities, and how many of these charities are only for their own benefit. Nevertheless, we should not allow this to continue. With that said! you all do not give a crap about the same exact things happening on the left. Hillary Clinton, ( The Shining Star of corrupt malice) for example has misappropriated many of the Clinton Foundation funds for personal use. Such as her daughter's wedding. If you're not equally outraged, then you're just a party-line hypocrite and you should not be chiming in now. In which case, keep your opinion to yourself, as yourself is Holy corrupted and worth nothing just like your opinion.

This is a bad joke: HuffPo writes an idiotic hit piece which more or less says no business should have anything to do with a Trump-related business because of Jan. 6 and any questioning of the election. Other "news" sources copy/clone/mirror that piece as if it is news. Well f#*k HuffPo and its lesser non-news minions. First of all questioning any election is a right every citizen has. Secondly, blatantly stating Trump is responsible for the riot that spilled over to criminal tresspass is just partisan hackery--especially when the event was allowed to happen by the left by not beefing up security. The only people that believe 3rd rate partisan "news" like this have their heads so deep into their comfirmation bias "tunnel" they can't see daylight.

And Biden’s son was flown east on Air Force 2 to negotiate a gagillion dollar deal. No one in politics actually cares about the people. Neither side ever does anything and neither side ever actually plans on doing anything.

Private charitable foundation run by a private citizen hosting fundraising at a privately owned resort. Trump is not president. The whole family is back to just being private citizens. No conflict of interest here. The foundation hosted events there in the past. Exactly how is it a big deal now? Imagine the Gates Foundation holding a fundraising event at a property owned by Bill Gates. Or Paris Hilton having a fundraising event at a Hilton hotel. There isn't anything nefarious, just practical. If you could raise money for your charity and also support a family business at the same time, wouldn't you?
