Ronald DeFeo, killer who inspired ’The Amityville Horror,’ dies at 69

Ronald DeFeo, who killed his parents and 4 siblings at their home in Amityville, New York, in 1974, has died in a hospital, on Friday. He was 69. DeFeo, who was serving 25 years to life in prison, was jailed at the Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg, since 1975. DeFeo’s killings inspired a books and movies, including the 1979 film ’The Amityville Horror.’ He had a parole hearing in July.
