UN revises death toll in Myanmar crackdown on anti-coup protesters to 149
Security forces in Myanmar killed at least 149 people in their crackdown against anti-coup protesters across the country, UN rights office spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said. Among those, 5 died in custody. However, Shamdasani stressed that the actual toll was undoubtedly much higher. She also said that the military junta is continuing arbitrary arrests, with at least 2,084 in custody now.
