Mayorkas says migrant numbers at border may reach highest in 20 years

Alejandro Mayorkas, US homeland security secretary, said the situation in America’s southern border is such that the country is on track to face more migrants than it has in the last 20 years. Describing the situation as ’difficult,’ he said the administration is trying everything to control it. In a statement, he said: ’We are making progress. ... We won’t waver in our commitment to succeed.’

Militarize the border, build walls in high-traffic areas, crack down on further illegal immigration, and give a long path to citizenship for illegal immigrants currently living in the US.

I thought Mexico was stopping them at their Southern border. What happened to that? If that is the case then these must be the people who were made to wait in Mexico by the last administration.

"The administration is trying everything to control it." Hmm... Maybe try what the last guy was doing. Just an idea.

Since decades, president after president, US and allies started wars with all the countries and care so much for the people in the name of freedom and democracy that triggered chain reaction of human catastrophe, these migrants risking their lives being forced to abandon their home and managed to reach the ‘safe border’, it will be US responsibility now to ensure these migrants are well being taken care of and do it right.
