French lawmakers approve ’non-consent sex’ law to protect minors

Members of the French National Assembly have approved a bill that seeks to set the age of sexual consent at 15 and ban sex with relatives aged under 18. This comes after a series of sexual abuse scandals rocked the country. Now, the legislation is in the Senate, where it is expected to pass. It will be a landmark law as it will give France an age of consent for sexual relations for the first time.
