Harris stresses on women’s role in democracy during speech at UN

Vice President Kamala Harris, in her first speech before the UN as the first female vice president of the US, declared that ’the status of women is the status of democracy.’ Harris was speaking at the UN’s 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, and her debut at the UN comes less than two weeks after she spoke to the European Parliament to mark International Women’s Day.

Men and women are equal so why is one more important than other? Equal opportunity is what we should strive for, not equal outcome. I’m tired of the back and forth of what a “woman” means to the left. It switches depending on their political agenda
