Australia said it will send 8,000 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine to the Pacific island nation of Papua New Guinea, which is struggling with a surge in infections. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the doses would be sent immediately along with critical care equipment. Canberra also urged the EU to send a million doses to PNG, where nearly 75% of the population is infected.
Australia is in a lucky situation with only 30000 cases in TOTAL history (2/3 in just one state), so it seems right that we send them to our neighbours who currently need it more.
Good to see and so we should.
