Katherine Tai confirmed as US trade representative

Veteran government trade lawyer Katherine Tai was approved by the Senate in a unanimous vote as the first woman of color and first Asian American to serve as the US trade representative. Tai, a Yale and Harvard-educated daughter of immigrants from Taiwan formerly served as the chief Democratic trade counsel for the House ways and means committee. She bagged a rare 98-0 vote in the Senate.

What a joke. No discussion of her policy positions, no word on what she could possibly do about China's IP thefts, no discussion of any of her accomplishments or qualifications beyond vague references to her trying to insert meaningless "labor" provisions into Trump's revised NAFTA agreement. What happened to journalism?
