The US House voted to remove a decades-old deadline for adopting the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA had been approved by Congress in the early 1970s, and a 1982 deadline had been set for it to be enacted if 38 state legislatures voted to approve. Virginia became the 38th state last year to vote in favor, and went to court, along with Illinois and Nevada to demand the amendment be declared valid.
Does the house have the authority to change how amendments get passed and adopted?
But doesn’t the US already have gender/sex (biological sex) equality?
