House condemns Myanmar coup; 14 Republicans vote against the measure

The House on Friday condemned the military takeover in Myanmar, demanding the country’s junta release all the people it has detained. Friday’s resolution, introduced by Rep. Andy Levin from Michigan, calls on Myanmar’s military leaders to allow press freedom and ’unfettered reporting from local, national and international media.’ While all House Democrat backed it, 14 Republicans voted against it.

I assume (or at least I hope) those 14 felt that the US simply sucks at policing the world and we don’t need to get involved in another country’s business (on top of the fact that everytime we did it led to disaster) 🤷‍♂️

Why would you vote against a resolution condemning a military coup? That is just du_mb.

I don’t understand “condemning”, yeah okay a dude a thousand miles away said you’re doing bad things. The US isn’t going to do shit so they should stay out of it.

MAGA sees this as a trial run. If only our own military would have restored the former failure-in-chief all would be right

I'm split on this one. I was hoping for a military takeover after the Biden regime seized power, so I supported the junta in Myanmar for that reason. But all the killing and arresting is seriously turning me off. I have no idea what's going on and who is the good guy there.

Oh come on, where the sane rationale for this. It’s this sort of mindless stupidity; from both sides of America’s politics - that is bringing your country down.
