Northern Japan was hit by an earthquake measuring 7.0 in magnitude on the Richter scale on Saturday. The earthquake led to a tsunami advisory being triggered for a part of the northern coast with buildings in Japan also feeling the earthquake. No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been reported till now. The shaking started just before 6:10 p.m. according to reports.

Of all things the North? The North is the home of the Ainu among others who have suffered long centuries of discrimination by the rest of Japanese society. Some endangered cultures, traditions, dialects, etc. there. Hope they recuperate from this and that plenty of heritage escaped devastation if by any luck.
