Australia to evacuate thousands as New South Wales faces worst floods in decades

Incessant rains in Australia’s New South Wales have left some parts of the state facing the worst flooding in five decades. Around 18,000 people had been evacuated by Monday and up to 54,000 people are feared could be displaced with rain forecast to continue until Wednesday. In Sydney, the Warragamba Dam has spilled over, causing river levels to rise to dangerous levels.
