The White House has withdrawn its nomination of Elizabeth Klein to become the Interior Department’s deputy secretary after opposition from Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska). Klein is second nominee President Joe Biden has been forced to pull out. Earlier, Neera Tanden took herself out of consideration for the post of director of Office of Management and Budget after opposition from key senators.
