A look at historical events which took place on March 24

Today, on the 24th of March, in the year 1765, the British enacted the Quartering Act, which required American colonists to provide temporary housing to British soldiers. Robert Koch, a German scientist announced in 1882 that he had discovered the bacillus responsible for tuberculosis. The year 1913 saw the opening of New York’s Palace Theatre, the legendary home of vaudeville, on Broadway.
