Federal court upholds Hawaii limits on carrying guns in public

A panel of 11 judges on the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Honolulu upheld Hawaii’s strict limit on openly carrying firearms. The ruling came after a lawsuit by a man called George Young unsuccessfully tried several times to obtain a permit to publicly carry a loaded gun. The court said the Second Amendment doesn’t give ’unfettered’ right to carry arms openly and Hawaii’s carry rule is lawful.

What part of "shall not be infringed" do you people not understand? It makes me sick to think some windbag sitting in a fancy chair can tell me what I can and cannot do. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Or if you want to be fancy and pay an import tax, then you can have egalite, fraternite, and liberte. Both are acceptable mantras.

The 9th circuit is the most overturned court in the land. Rulings like this are the reason why.

This is a sad development for the people of Hawaii. They have been left defenseless by those sworn to protect their rights. Hawaii has declared to all those that want to hurt, steal, rape, and murder that the population of Hawaii are fish in a barrel ripe for the picking. Mass shootings are sure to follow.🤦🏽‍♂️ I feel unbelievably sorry for the people.

Oh look, SCOTUS is tossing out the constitution again. Who would have expected this after they abdicated their responsibility to peacably address disputes between states? /S Real talk: if the federal government won't honor the constitution as written, then why should anyone be forced to stay in this clearly dishonest Union?

July 24, 2018: SAN FRANCISCO (CN) – The Ninth Circuit ruled Tuesday that carrying guns in public is a constitutional right. This is probably going to end up in the Supreme Court at some point

This I don't get. Open carry means you see the gun. You don't have to wonder if they have a gun. If I'm fearful I have a visible sign that says "hey if you attack me I have something to shoot you with." The only other option is to have no guns carried legally which means the only ones who do carry are doing so illegally. So they are may feel obligated to use it in an illegal way since carrying it already puts them on the wrong side of the law.
