University of Southern California agrees to $852M payout in sex abuse lawsuit

The University of Southern California has agreed to an $852M settlement with more than 700 women who have accused the college’s longtime campus gynecologist of sexual abuse. George Tyndall, 74, was arrested in 2019 and charged with sexually assaulting 16 female patients. The payment is in addition to $215M the university had agreed to pay in 2018 in a separate class-action case against Tyndall.
