Labor board ordered Tesla to have Elon Musk delete anti-union tweet

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) ordered Tesla to reinstate a union activist fired three years ago for organizing a campaign against the company and directed the carmaker to make CEO Elon Musk delete an anti-union tweet he made in 2018. NLRB also ordered that Tesla must also compensate the employee for loss of earnings, benefits, and adverse tax consequences that resulted from his firing.

In what way? Speech can't violate US law unless it DIRECTLY incites criminal activities. This ain't it.

“Nothing stopping Tesla team at our car plant from voting union. Could do so tmrw if they wanted. But why pay union dues & give up stock options for nothing?” That is not a threat, but it is an argument against unions being able to compete with Tesla over employee incentives. Edit: So here is the full tweet, which was apparently cut off in the articles. "Nothing stopping Tesla team at our car plant from voting union. Could do so tmrw if they wanted. But why pay union dues & give up stock options for nothing? Our safety record is 2X better than when plant was UAW & everybody already gets healthcare."

Because it is intimidation, if the boss of your company makes clear he dislikes unions its employees will think twice about joining one... He is in a position of power... firing a warning shot.. like a little king...

American Unions are just gangs that take advantage of the common worker in their own way and destroy business. So glad we get to pay them 200k a year to answer a call once a week b

What if he just, you know, didn't delete it? I thought we still had the right to free speech. Did we finally lose that right too?

What was wrong with the tweet, seemed rational to me? Also what wrong with saying employees can't speak to the media without authorization? Surely the... It's a private company logic applies here... If the employees don't like it they can leave.
