Megaship blocking Suez Canal may be refloated Saturday

The owner of a ship blocking the Suez Canal hopes to refloat it as early as Saturday. The MV Ever Given has been wedged diagonally across the span of the canal since Tuesday, blocking the waterway. ’We are continuing work to remove sediment as of now, with additional dredging tools,’ Yukito Higaki, president of Shoei Kisen said. The blockage has caused a jam of more than 200 ships at both ends.
