’Reasonable people won’t believe her claims,’ Sydney Powell’s defense says

Sidney Powell’s campaign to junk the 2020 election results wasn’t based on facts, her lawyers said in a response to a billion-dollar defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems over her claims that their voting machines rigged the poll. Lawyers for Powell, who was ex-President Donald Trump’s lawyer, said, ’No reasonable person would conclude that the statements were truly statements of fact.’

It is astonishing that her defense is that her statements were false, but so obviously false that they can't be considered lies because 'no reasonable people' would believe them. She may be right about 'reasonable people' but a lot of unreasonable people are taking them all too seriously.
