The first day in the murder trial of former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin, accused of killing George Floyd, featured an intense series of opening arguments, photographs and videos of the killing, besides testimony from three witnesses. Chauvin is charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. The trial is expected to last about four weeks.
What character? The one that involves him holding a pregnant woman at gun point? It's not even necessary. He died of an overdose of fentanyl. The autopsy showed no signs of respiratory distress and the guy conducting it for the family simply based it on the video and stated as much. That's the second and third autopsy called into question. The one from the coroner showed 11/nG fentanyl Inn his blood. 3/nG is lethal generally. The body can even shows him swallowing a little bindle if you watch closely. It's not good he died, it's also not the case that he was murdered.
They aren't going to insult him, they are going to describe him and let the jury think for themselves.
The man was arrested nine times. I think his character was already destroyed.
Can't assassinate someone's character that they already assassinated through life decisions
Yea his police record and bodycam statements do that. " armed robbery, pointing a gun at a pregnant woman and being involved in cocaine/white bag/baggie charges " https://www.thecourierdaily.com/george-floyd-criminal-past-record-arrest/20177/
There's no character left to salvage and it's disappointing that his family takes no responsibility for any of George Floyd's character leading up to any of his crimes. They already received a $27m settlement from the city before the end of the trial. At this point they just want blood and certainly not justice.
If he was a good person, and not an abusive druggie with a warrant for his arrest, there wouldn't be anything to worry about.
Drugs are nasty and people ruin their lives with them. So horrific. I am certain he would have lived thru the arrest as a sober man.
There are good and bad on both sides..
This is not going to be good.
Anyone arguing his character when he died detained in restraints under 3 cops is a blatant racist and white supremacist. Congrats on outing yourselves.
Derek Chauvin trial to continue with MMA fighter who watched George Floyd's death https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/30/us/derek-chauvin-trial-day-2/index.html Donald Wynn Williams II began testifying Monday as the third witness in the trial. Relying on his own MMA experience, he said that Chauvin performed a "blood choke" on Floyd and adjusted his positioning several times to maintain pressure on Floyd's neck.
The Forgotten History of America’s Worst Racial Massacre https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/30/opinion/elaine-massacre-1919-arkansas.html Americans have yet to reckon with this horrible past. Elaine was probably the largest massacre of black people in post-Civil War history, yet no federal investigation was ever conducted. This neglect by the government came in the face of people who merely sought to exercise their basic rights to secure a lawyer to defend their property. America cannot address the inequality, poverty, inadequate education, the racially biased criminal justice system, and the limited life chances of black people that define contemporary society until the nation confronts and acknowledges this history. The obligations of the past weigh heavily upon the present.
Because he was a saint, right?

So they're gonna tell the truth...
George already assassinated his own character. Why worry?
What character
Needless to say, the BLM already did that with the riots. So.... theres that
They don't need to, he assassinated his own character enough publicly before the death. You can both disagree with his death and recognize that he was not someone worth associating with socially at the same time, I know this is too tough of a mental task for some since some Americans are more interested in falling into a script like some kinds of bots with the social tact of soccer hooligans instead of thinking critically.
