G Gordon Liddy, mastermind behind Watergate, dies at 90

G Gordon Liddy, the lawyer who masterminded the botched burglary that led to the Watergate scandal and the resignation of President Richard Nixon in 1974, has died in Mount Vernon, Virginia. He was 90. His family said Liddy had Parkinson’s disease and had been in declining health. Liddy became a radio talk show host after emerging from prison and remained an enigma for Americans for decades.
