Mounted police charge April Fool’s Day ’party’ crowd in Brussels

Police officers on horses charged into a crowd of around 2,000 people in a Brussels park Thursday who gathered for a fake concert violating Belgium’s Covid-19 restrictions. The event was announced on social media as an April Fool’s Day prank. Videos of cops charging on horsebacks quickly went viral. Earlier, authorities had warned the ’party’ was illegal and the organizers could be prosecuted.

There was some town in England where people would celebrate Guy Fawkes day by going out at night with masks. Started out harmless, then became petty vandalism, then looting, then serious vandalism, until eventually full blown rioting with dead constables. The next year the cops requested assistance from the nearest army unit, not yeomanry, but regular army cavalry, and lancers rode down the crowds. Idk what's more amusing, that cavalry were used in 2021, or that in Brussels of all places, the neoliberal supranational political establishment had cavalry charge people for... meeting in a park in the times of commie coof.

When it's illegal to peaceable gather your government has failed you and you need to fight back with everything you have including your life if necessary. There is no more vicious attack a government can enact on it's people than this. If you allow this they know there is nothing they can't do to you.

Wouldn't the deliberate use of tear gas be an animal cruelty issue to the cavalry horses?
