US lifts Trump administration’s sanctions on top ICC prosecutor
The US has lifted sanctions imposed by the Trump administration on the top prosecutor of the ICC. Sanctions were imposed for the outgoing prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, after she launched an investigation into alleged war crimes by US military personnel in Afghanistan. Antony Blinken, said the US continued to ’disagree strongly’ with the moves, but suggested ’engagement’ over imposing sanctions.
