Google enters the chip market to drive costs down for future phones

Google follows industry leaders Samsung and Apple in making their own chipsets for the Pixel. This will provide similar performance at a lower price. True flagship phones will continue to have premium Qualcomm Snapdragon chips which have shown better all around performance.

It would be great if they decreased prices thus giving apple and Samsung users a reason to switch. Google could create a user economy that rivals Apple, and possibly give enough control to the user to lure in some samsung users!
