Decisions about Capitol fencing could be delayed following deadly breach

The gradual reopening of the grounds of the US Capitol for the public could be delayed in the wake of the deadly breach of the building’s perimeter. Lawmakers have been eyeing a return to more normal security measures following the insurrection which took place on January 6. A Capitol Police officer was killed when a man rammed his car into a barrier outside the Senate side of the building.

A president so popular he has to be sworn in without a ceremony, attended primarily by the military and has to secure the capital with fencing and national guard. Something about the election ad his poll numbers don't seem to jive with reality.🤷🏾‍♂️

Starting to think that “breech” was a setup to create an excuse not to take down the fencing...

There wasn't a mass shooting here the weapons were a car and a knife. That proves that if someone wants badly enough to hurt or kill someone or someones then they will use whatever comes to hand.

Anything to drag this drama out a little longer, eh? Can you imagine if Trump did such a thing? The democrats would lose their minds! Incidentally, those are public buildings and the public has a right to go into certain places inside that fence. Between overreacting to Jan 6 and COVID, they have been able so make themselves some nice fortifications and soldiers to guard them. Now all they need is a moat and a drawbridge and they will REALLY feel like royalty. Btw...I thought democrats were against walls, fences and barriers. Go figure.

Jan 6 was an extremely ineffectual insurrection if you're calling it that. No nonprotestors died.

Why take it down? Did America become less violent over night? Just own up to the country we have.Politicians value themselves higher than the people. With more guns than people I would say the gun deaths per year could easily be higher. Dont cry i dont want your fkn guns. Just realize the next mass shooting you have could have been worse, every day. For crying out loud some senators want to bring them in the Capitol building. I'm surprised there is any talk of lowering security. Its what America is. I expect more fencing and security across the country. City halls, churches, mosques, temples, police stations, schools. It could be the new stimulus. This is just another cost to everyone getting every freedom available to them. If that means some mentally unstable people access to a gun legally or otherwise so be it. Its all about unabashed freedoms. Have all the freedoms you want, just don't ask why the country looks like China took it over.

What "breach"? What "insurrection"? Have you all gone mad in the US? It's sad to watch.

It is only a matter of time before some BLM or Antifa protest gets blocked by the fence and then suddenly Democrats will scramble to take it down.

In other news, Mc Donalds is issuing a state of emergency due to their recent “breach”, where an elderly woman in a mobility scooter had a deadly fight while waiting in the drive through line.
