A North Carolina police officer captured on video swinging a police dog around on a leash and striking the animal during training has resigned. Salisbury Police Officer James Hampton stepped down after a week long investigation that determined he violated K-9 training practices during the October incident. The video of the incident drew outrage from community members and animal activists.
So a cop is more likely to be fired for beating a dog(which is aweful and should be punished) than for beating/killing an unarmed suspect.... yeah that tracks
Cops that abuse animals are likely to abuse humans. This particular cop is a liability to the whole police force. Glad it was taken seriously.
Gypsy cop is just going to go one community over where they will hire him.
Their “chief of police” should be let go or fired; he allows this type of behavior
This is why the army standard of having the dog outrank its handler is a good idea and should be mimicked in anywhere that has a rank structure.
Assaulting a co worker is a fireable offense
I wonder how many times they've done this without getting caught.
What a horrible creature, mistreating a defense less
I mean we have a statistic on domestic abuse and law enforcement crossovers, I wonder if we can get a statistic on animal abuse and law enforcement... I mean, ATF alone has a backlog.
Never trust anyone who mistreats animals for if they do that then one has to wonder how they treat people.
Seems like the cop might need mental health intervention.
And what about the ones that video taped it and sounded like they were laughing?
A hero now zero.
Cops are held to a standard when handling K9s more than they are for their handling of unarmed POC.
If that's how he treated his K9 officer dog partner, his conduct towards others (especially anyone he arrested) needs to be investigated.
Look his ass up .
Needs to go to jail. If any civilian did this they would be arrested for Assaulting a police officer.
