NASA’s Mars helicopter survives first night in cold Martian terrain alone

After spending its first week tucked inside the belly of NASA’s Perseverance rover in Mars, the Ingenuity helicopter survived its first cold night on the Martian surface alone. Perseverance dropped Ingenuity to the ground and backed away to allow the copter’s solar panel to get sunlight. NASA has termed it the first big hurdle that Ingenuity has passed ahead of his maiden flight on the red planet.
