The Norwegian Rescue Coordination Center evacuated 12 crew members from a sinking Dutch cargo ship named Eemslift Hendrika 130km (80 miles) from Norway’s Alesund. They used choppers to rescue four of them who had jumped into the sea. The ship, which suffered engine failure due to rough seas, contains 350 cubic meters of heavy fuel oil, 75 cubic meters of diesel and 10 cubic meters of lubricants.
