’Anti-racist’ group says it stole Confederate monument, demands unusual ransom

A self-styled ’anti-racist action group’ called ’White Lies Matter’ said it stole a stone chair dedicated to Jefferson Davis from a cemetery in Selma, Alabama, in March, and threatened to turn it into a toilet if their unusual demand is not met. The group has asked the United Daughters of the Confederacy to hang a banner, which they sent by an email, outside their Virginia headquarters for a day.

Funny, the Germans are forced to maintain Auschwitz so the world never forgets. Yet we let Democrats tear down their history.

Quick question guys. Whether or not you agree with the statues being removed... how is this not the definition of domestic political terrorism? I mean purely by the definition... I’m not calling them terrorists... yet?

Ok the chair is worth about half a million, for that kind of money I'm imaging the white collar FBI will get involved. Good luck scrub(s) that stole it, your little VPN can hardly protect you from the federals. Edit: they sent and received emails with pictures attached. There is no such thing as privacy on the internet.

That they want ransome money should tell people its not about a moral.stance, its about money.... Then again, seems there is more than a few people effectively deaf, blind, and without any sense.

Filed under 'Recycle, Reuse, Reduce'. Turning useless statues into functioning toilets is good for the environment, right? No deposit, yes return. Yes deposit, no return. But theft of property, federal, state, or private organization, is still a criminal act. It sets a bad precedent to give criminal activity a pass if under political aims. Under US statute, a politically motivated criminal act, by definition, may be construed as terrorism. Whatever gets a pass now can be reversed in kind later. If anything is acceptable, then everything is acceptable.

Is it still terrorism if they're doing something that's not particularly scary?

ISIS took out their frustrations on statues, as well. Just sayin'.

Even though this is funny, it is not correct. Not asking for money is a saving grace to a certain degree. White lives matter, I agree, but endangering a piece of history is just not ok. If the picture showing them 'rolling' the chair is true, then that is very much not ok.
