US Olympic body opposes country’s boycott of Beijing Winter Olympics
The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee opposed the call for the boycott of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics over China’s alleged violations of human rights. It said athletes shouldn’t be used as ’political pawns.’ Susanne Lyons, USOPC head, reiterated the organization’s stand saying that such boycotts doesn’t achieve any goal. The Beijing Winter Games are scheduled to begin on February 4, 2022.
I can't help but wonder if the German Third Reich borrowed money to the US and produced most goods would the World look away from Germany's concentration camps much like they do with China and Uighurs or Tibet. I really do... But I guess fight over safe spaces and the use of the right pronouns takes precedence over actual people's lives.
