Investigator tells court Floyd said he ’ate too many drugs,’ reverses testimony

During Derek Chauvin’s murder trial in George Floyd’s death, the lead investigator in the case, James Reyerson, said ’I did’ while replying to Chauvin’s defense if he heard Floyd as saying ’I ate too many drugs.’ This was after a bodycam tape was played out before the court. But when the prosecution asked Reyerson what he heard, the officer said he heard Floyd as saying ’I ain’t doing no drugs.’

With all of the evidence coming out, I'm now leaning way more towards full acquittal. Murder 2 and 3 are definitely out, which left manslaughter, and even that is shaky now. Reasonable doubt is definitely setting in. That said, I can't reasonably say Floyd said "I ate too many drugs" in this clip. It's just too hard to make out.

Listening to the tape several times, I believe he actually said 'I had too many drugs.' He's full up panicking and begging for medical help.

Blame the victim. That's what racists have done since forever.

Heard the tape, probably said "I ate too many drugs. " I suppose you wouid have to listen to everything eise he was saying. The other words they claim, 'I ain't do no drugs' don't actually make sense. So clear words that make sense or giberish. I'm going with the real sentence. In context i think he was past worries of being found with drugs and nore conserned with an overdose.

I honestly couldn't tell what he said so I'm surprised he admitted to saying he could hear anything either. Changing what you said on the stand isn't a good look though.
