Michigan deputies rescue infant abandoned in woods

Michigan deputies found 4-month-old baby left in the woods after responding to reports of a highly agitated woman banging on doors in the area near Orion Township, 40 miles (64km) northwest of Detroit. The baby boy was in a hypothermic state, but alive. Deputies started the search after speaking with the woman, 37, who turned out to be the baby’s mother. She could face charges of child abuse.

If she dropped the baby off at a police station or church she wouldn’t be facing charges.
